About Gina Tucker-Roghi

Dr. Tucker-Roghi serves as an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Occupational Therapy Department at Dominican University of California (DUC). She brings over 30 years of expertise in geriatric clinical practice, leadership, and education to her role and is board certified in gerontology through the American Occupational Therapy Association. She earned her post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy in 2016 and subsequently joined the faculty at DUC as an adjunct assistant professor, advancing to Assistant Professor-Tenure Track in 2018.

In 2019, Dr. Tucker-Roghi was honored with a substantial $300,000 four-year Geriatric Academic Career Award from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration and served as the Project Director for initiatives focused on Occupational Therapy and Interprofessional Education to Support Health, Well-Being, and Quality of Life for Older Adults with Cognitive Impairment. Building on her track record of leadership and scholarship, she was appointed the Chair and Program Director for DUC’s Occupational Therapy Program in 2022, where she is now spearheading the development of an entry-level Doctoral program.

Her academic and clinical scholarship is predominantly centered on training and education for the healthcare workforce, aimed at addressing the unique needs of individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.
