About Gerald Keller, DO

Dr. Gerald Keller Is originally from Lakeland, FL. After graduating from Stetson University in DeLand, FL he began his medical training at Lecom-Bradenton and graduated in 2009. He chose to enroll in an osteopathic medical college because he embraced the osteopathic philosophy that the body is a unit that is designed to heal itself and that the overall structure of the musculoskeletal system plays a vital role in the function of the other body systems. He completed his post-graduate training In Family Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. After residency, he was employed as an assistant Clinical professor at the University of Florida department of community and family medicine and transferred to continue to teach at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL where he enjoyed building his practice while teaching in the medical school for 4 years. During his last year he was awarded the Leonard-Tow Humanism in medicine award and inducted into the Gold-Humanism Honor Society. In 2017 He moved back to Gainesville to take his current position as a core faculty member at the UCF-HCA Florida North Florida Hospital Family Medicine residency and start a family with his wife on their farm in Alachua. Throughout his career he has maintained a focus on medical education because, “I not only love teaching patient and evidence-based care, but I am also consistently motivated and challenged by the next generation of enthusiastic learners whose positive energy and sharp intellect never cease to amaze me.”
