About Georgios Rossidis, MD, FACS

Dr. George Rossidis, was born and raised in Cyprus, Greece. He received his medical degree at Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary and graduated as the class valedictorian. He completed his internship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and his surgical residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville where he served as the administrative Chief Resident. Currently Dr. Rossidis is a Board Certified General Surgeon by the American Board of Surgery and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Rossidis completed a post graduate fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Rossidis served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the UF College of Medicine for three years. He has authored multiple publications and surgical book chapters. He also presented his academic work at local, national and international meetings. He then transitioned to private practice and served as the Medical Director of the Bariatric Surgery Program, Medical Director of the Esophageal Cancer Program and Cancer Liaison Physician for the Commission on Cancer at Saint Anthony's Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL.

Dr. Rossidis is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, American Society of Breast Surgeons, and a member of the Chapman Chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. HIS clinical interests include management of benign and malignant gastroesophageal disorders like esophageal and stomach cancer, achalasia and reflux disease, Minimally invasive bariatric and colorectal surgery, abdominal wall hernias, and benign/malignant breast surgery.
