Abstract

Coriandrin, an antiviral agent, has been synthesized in nine steps from diketone 3. The key steps in the synthesis include an eficient aromatization reaction using N-bromosuccinimide and a palladium-mediated coupling of a benzylic bromide with a vinyl stannane.
