Professor and Dean, Engineering Dean's Office
Dr. George K. Haritos is the Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Akron. He serves as the senior administrator and chief academic officer of the College with responsibility for five academic departments – Biomedical, Chemical and Biomolecular, Civil, Electrical and Computer, and Mechanical Engineering – offering undergraduate and post-graduate engineering education. In addition, he oversees several College programs including those in Cooperative Engineering Education, Women in Engineering, Increasing Diversity in Engineering Academics (IDEAs), and Engineering Computer and Network Services. Dr. Haritos chairs the Ohio Engineering Deans Council, and is a member of the Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI) Board of Trustees and the Manufacturing Advocacy & Growth Network (MAGNET) Board of Directors.
