Abstract
The article focuses on the Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary, an ecumenical, Lutheran based religious order founded by theologian and intellectual Mother Basilea Schlink in Darmstadt, Germany in the spring of 1947. It is noted that the religious movement was the first Protestant women's cloister in the country since the Reformation. It explores how the sisterhood responded to wars, with trust in God, individual and corporate repentance, and support for the Jews.
