Abstract

This novel won second place in Original Writing Contest sponsored by Arts and Museum agency of the state of Utah. See web-site http://heritage.utah.gov/arts-and-museums/winners-of-2013-original-writing-contest.org. The scene of the novel is in the Ozarks of Missouri. The protagonist is an elderly mill-owner. He has lost his mill. He works at restoring other mills. No one appears to pay him for his work but he keeps on working. The novel then argues that work is a good in itself.
