About Gautam Yagnik

Gautam Yagnik, M.D., is a Board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow and knee. He is the team physician for the Miami Dolphins and the Florida Panthers. He has served as assistant team physician for the University of Miami and Florida International University football teams, and has provided orthopedic coverage for the BCS National Championship Game, FedEx Orange Bowl, Miami Open and NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. 

Dr. Yagnik earned his undergraduate degree at Duke University, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He attended medical school at the University of Pittsburgh, where he graduated at the top of his class and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. During medical school he performed surgical research that yielded two prestigious grants from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Dr. Yagnik completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. There he was elected administrative chief resident and was given the Willard Award for the most outstanding resident. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at UHZ Sports Medicine Institute.
