Abstract

The binary homogeneous nucleation rates for pure n- and i-octane vapors and their mixtures in the mole ratio of 3:1, 1:1, 3:1 was measured using a Wilson expansion cloud chamber. Measurements were carried out with argon in a temperature range from 215 to 260 K. The reaction rates range from approximately 100 to 50 000 drops/cm3 s.
