Abstract

Heats of neutralization in basic methanol-water solution were determined for benzoic acid, m-fluorobenzoic acid, and solid solutions of the two at 25°C. Heats of mixing calculated from these data show a maximum of 350 ± 20 cal. per mole near 0.4 mole fraction of benzoic acid.
