About Gail Roaten

I am an Associate Professor in Core Faculty, Department of Counselor Education and Family Studies. I have been a counselor educator for 13 years. I received tenure and was promoted to Associate Professor at Texas State University in 2011. I coordinated the school counseling programs at Baylor University, Texas State University & Tarleton State University. I also have served as counseling program chair, CACREP liaison, practicum/internship coordinator, and admissions chair. I have served as clinic director for two universities (on-campus counseling clinic). I have numerous publications and presentations related to school counselor professional identity, efficacy of school counseling programs, and best practices in counseling children and adolescent. I am LPC and board-approved supervisor in TX; I am also certified school counselor in TX.
