Abstract
For the past ten years, the study of cytogenetics and extensive
observations abroad showed that sex determination in
reptiles has two factors- the determination by heteromorphic
chromosomes and determination by temperature. There have
been no reports about the study of temperature-induced sex
determination in reptiles in this country [China]. The author
preliminarily studied the relationship between incubation
temperature and turtle gender from June to September 1984.
The research materials came from the Institute of Special Sea
Production in Hanshon County, Hunan Province.
