About Fred W. Jenkins

I have been at the University of Dayton since 1987. In addition to serving as Associate Dean in the University Libraries, I held a joint appointment in the Department of Religious Studies and have taught courses for the Departments of History, Languages, and Philosophy. I became Professor Emeritus in June 2021 and continue to teach part-time.
My research has largely focused on ancient historiography and the history and bibliography of classical scholarship. In recent years I have contributed translations and commentaries for sixteen fragmentary Greek historians to Brill's New Jacoby. My most recent book is an annotated bibliography on Ammianus Marcellinus, also for Brill.
