Abstract
Frank Shushok, Jr. and Patricia A. Perillo begin with the current context of religious and spiritual life on campus. Sharing the personal narratives of students on their campuses, Virginia Tech, they describe the impact of shared tragedy on individuals' identities. They also introduce a three-pronged strategy for colleges and universities to integrate a focus on meaning making. Throughout, Shushok and Perillo take on the task of imagining the future of institutionalizing higher education's support for students' explorations of spirituality, faith, religion, and life purpose.
