About Frank Barbera

Francesco Barbera is currently a doctoral candidate at Bond University in Queensland, Australia. He achieved a MCom (Honours) Degree from Bond University in Economics. His research interests encompass a wide range of economic issues applied to family business, entrepreneurship, and small business management. He has been selected as a Family Owned Business Institute Scholar in 2010 by the Seidman College of Business, Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids in the USA. His research has won the Family Enterprise Research Conference (FERC) award for best doctoral paper, and has also been published in the journal of Small Business Economics. Mr. Barbera currently serves as a Research Associate at the Australian Centre for Family Business (ACFB) in Queensland, Australia where he is investigating Australian small to medium-sized enterprises. Specifically, his research is focused on technical and scale efficiency differentials between family and non-family firms using an economic framework.
