About Frank Filipetto, DO, FACOFP

Dr. Frank Filipetto serves as the Dean of the University of North Texas Health Science Center/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNTHSC/TCOM). He was appointed to this position in February 2019, after serving as the Interim Dean for 18 months. He was recruited to UNTHSC/TCOM in 2011 to serve as the Chairman of the Department of Family Medicine. In 2014, he was appointed to serve as the school’s Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs overseeing the school’s curriculum. In this role, he also chaired the curriculum committee as well as the Student Performance Committee. In 2016, he was awarded the Carl E. Everett Endowed Professorship of Family Medicine. Dr. Filipetto earned his bachelor’s degree from Temple University followed by his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry/School of Osteopathic Medicine and is board certified in Family Medicine by the AOA/AOBFP. He is a Fellow in the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He holds full practice licensure by the Texas Medical Board.
