This paper discusses initial outcomes from Pay it Forward, from perspectives of knowledge/skills development and educational change. Pay it Forward has been shown to present a fresh approach to educational professional development. First, it provides educational leaders with the support needed to engage with contemporary issues at a deep intellectual level; secondly, by encouraging leaders to contribute to policy development, medical educators can develop their capacity as educational change agents; finally, developing educational professional development for time-poor health professionals promotes succinct and creative approaches.
