Abstract
In the era of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), the conversations teachers, reading specialists, and literacy coaches have in professional learning communities are more important than ever. The Common Core is refocusing the nation’s attention on supporting students as they read informational texts, read complex texts closely, and craft text-based arguments in a wider array of writing forms than ever before.
