About Felix Jiménez-Villacorta

My research is oriented towards the study of magnetic nanostructured materials. After completion of my Ph.D. dissertation at the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) in Spain I worked for three years at the Spanish beamline of the European Synchrotron (ESRF) in Grenoble, France, devoted to X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) studies of nanoscaled magnetic materials and mixed-valence oxides, and presenting my work on magnetic particles and XAS in international workshops and conferences as a featured speaker. My research at Northeastern University is focused simultaneously on the study of the properties of nanostructured transition-metal-based systems for permanent magnet applications as well as in the magnetic properties of nanoscaled magnetostructural materials.
