Abstract
During my professional career I travelled in many countries attending conferences, giving intensive courses, visiting universities, research institutions, industry, museums, etc. I also received in my office at Laval University many visitors from different countries. This has been documented in De Re Metallica. A Metallurgist on the Move. Naturally, I gave many presents and received also many. The presents may not be very expensive but they have a deep emotional value. They may represent national art or excellent craft. Life goes on but memories don’t. Some of these are mentioned below in alphabetical order of the country.
Books presented to me in Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Hungarian, etc., are not included here - - they are kept at the Science Library, Pavillon Vachon at Laval University under Collection Habashi which is composed of:
- Books donated by F. Habashi including those presented to him in different languages
- Historical books authored by F. Habashi
- Historical books on mining and metallurgy
