Abstract
Iron production in Canada started in 1733 during the French Regime in Quebec and developed further during the British occupation. It was in Quebec that the bottom blowing of oxygen in steelmaking was invented which is now used world wide. Quebec is also one of the major supplier or iron ore and has one of the largest pelletizing plants.
