Abstract
John Convey was Director of the Mines Branch in the Department of Mines and Technical Surveys in Ottawa. He was instrumental in organizing the Sixth Commonwealth Congress in Ottawa in 1957 and in creating the Canadian Metallurgical Quarterly in 1962 at the first Conference of Metallurgists in Quebec City.
