Abstract
Emile E. Malouf was Chief of the Hydrometallurgical Development Section of Kennecott Copper Corporation's Metal Mining Division Research Department at Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1950 he identified rhenium in the molybdenite by-product of porphyry copper ores and his researches led to the commercialization of the process. He was also insturmental in designing cone prcipitators for copper recovery by cementation and for heap leaching of low grade copper ores.
