About Faith J Shimba
Faith Shimba isan Entrepreneur, Investor and Instructor at the Faculty of Computer Science, Information Systems and Mathematics, Institute of Finance Management (IFM), Dar es salaam, Tanzania. He teaches Decision support systems, IT/IS security and Forensics, Systems analysis and Design and Business Information systems. He is also a member of IT Security and Forensics Research Group and Center for ICT Research and Innovations
He holds a Master of Science (Honors) degree in Computing from the Dublin Institute of Technology in Dublin, Ireland and Advanced Diploma in Information Technology from the Institute of Finance Management in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
He is a full-time employee (Assistant Lecturer) of the Institute of Finance Management under the Information Technology (IT) Department.
His research interests are in the area of information systems security particularly security management tools, penetration testing and data recovery. His other areas of interest in research are in Cloud Computing, E-Governement,ICT Asset Management and IS anthropology.
Faith has served as the Acting Director Knowledge manage for the Tanzania Commission for Science and technology between June 2012 to July 2014. During his tenure at the commission, Faith has been involved in World bank funded project as Institution project coordinator. Faith has experience in working with incubators in Tanzania. While working with the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology, he pioneered the inception of TV white space project in Tanzania through a PPP between Government, Microsoft, Private Sector and Universities.
Faith has vast experience in both Government, Education and Private Sector.
