About Eve Rips

Professor Rips received her law degree from the University of Chicago Law School. She earned her BA in philosophy from Stanford University with honors in Ethics in Society.

Prior to joining the Chicago-Kent faculty, she was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and a Clinical Teaching Fellow in the Legislation and Policy Clinic at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She also previously served as the Director of Regional Strategy for Young Invinicbles, a national youth advocacy organization, and as a fellow and attorney with the Education Equity Project at the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.

Her research centers around the principle that legal systems designed for children and young adults work best when they are built based on nuanced understanding of child and emerging adult development, and that policies that impact young people should be shaped by directly-impacted youth.
