About Ernesto Trujillo

Dr. Ernesto Trujillo joined Boise State University in 2020, and is currently a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Geoscience. He earned his Ph.D. in civil engineering from Colorado State University - Fort Collins, and his M.A. and B.A. in civil engineering from the Universidad de los Andes - Bogotá. Dr. Trujillo is a water resources scientist and engineer, with over two decades of experience in snow and hydrologic sciences, water resources engineering, and data analytics. He has experience in scripting languages, snow and hydrologic modeling, GIS, statistics and geospatial methods, data analysis and visualization, and remote sensing of snow and other environmental variables. He has also spent time collaborating with stakeholders and water management agencies to develop innovative workflows, helping to support decision-making based on snow and hydrologic modeling results.
