Abstract
I was not at all sure what to expect from Erin Joy Schmidt’s one-woman show about the somewhat elusive figure at the center of Roe v. Wade. I went in expecting something akin to a political treatise blended with passionate advocacy. This is not at all what “My Name is Norma” is about. Schmidt presents a performance that at its heart seeks to tell a very human story—and what a story she tells.
Leaving absolutely everything on the stage, Schmidt fully and brilliantly inhabits the characters in the narrative she creates.…Entertaining and truly thought-provoking…
