Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the Lexia PowerUp program on the reading level of struggling readers in middle school. This study will take place in a suburban to rural community in the southern part of Northern Virginia. The participants will include students who have been found to be struggling readers and have been placed into a reading intervention class. The program called Lexia PowerUp is going to be used during a reading intervention class. Data was collected using a pre- and post-test of reading level (Scholastic Reading Inventory) as well as the Lexia level data that will be provided by the program. The findings in this study may help educators in their assessment of how the Lexia PowerUp program can assist their students reading levels.
