About Erica Koegler

Erica Koegler received her Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2016 and her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration. She has approached her global health work from a social work perspective. Her dissertation research examined the relationships between poor mental health and sexual risk for conflict-affected populations, with a focus on the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. She has two current research projects examining human trafficking in the Midwest. As an assistant professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Dr. Koegler teaches Master’s level research courses and serves as an M.S.W. student advisor.
