Abstract

In “the old days” being a “clinical supervisor” meant allowing students to get “clock hours” at your site. Today, being a “preceptor” means developing students’ skills and documenting their “competency” levels. This session will explore preceptor responsibilities including: evaluation of student performance, documentation of student performance, setting goals, and communication with the University. We discuss what to expect from students, and how to juggle clinic and student education demands.
