Developing an Online Course on the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm for Instruction Librarians
Saint Thomas More Summit: Building Identity and Living Mission
(2022)
Abstract
Based on five elements - context, experience, reflection, action, and evaluation, the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm (IPP) embodies best practices in teaching and has been at the root of Jesuit education for over 5 centuries. Much has been written on how faculty can incorporate the IPP into semester long instruction, but little has been written on how others who engage in instruction, such as librarians, can incorporate IPP into their teaching. Come learn about the development and implementation of this course. You won't experience a spiritual conversion, but you may experience a pedagogical one.
