Background: Globally, therapists employ cervical spine (CS) unilateral anterior glide (UPA) daily for various cervical spine painful conditions. The europhysiologic system that modulates pain overlaps with blood pressure (BP) as observed in BP-related hypoalgesia. However, there is no literature describing the cardiovascular response of the UPA. There is also conflicting evidence whether joint mobilization produces sympatho-excitatory or sympatho-inhibitory response based on two previous studies that utilized central anterior glide (CPA) and unilateral posterior pressures (AP) respectively.
