Abstract

This edited collection is firmly grounded in two traditions that have gained strength in the past two decades systematic efforts to "gender balance" the social sciences and a new understanding of politics as being more than what happens within the realm of governmental process. As a result, this collection of 33 articles, more than half of which are appearing in print for the first time, has much to offer to sociologists, women's studies scholars, and political scientists.
