Dr. Steiner has authored over 30 peer-reviewed papers that have been accepted by the top conferences and journals in the field of media and communication along with two books and three book chapters and over 500 news articles. His research explores the intersection of sports, journalism, and binge-watching. Prior to entering the academy he was a writer and editor for The Washington Post and a member of the newsroom awarded the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting. He is Rowan University's Sports Communication & Media Program Coordinator.
