About Elsie L Duff

As an instructor of nursing for over 10 years, at the University of Manitoba, I teach in the nurse practitioner major, undergraduate, and the baccalaureate program for registered nurses. I grew up in rural Manitoba and completed much of my nursing practice in remote Manitoba communities. I have worked as a casual emergency nurse in an urban centre, as an advanced practice nurse in well woman’s clinic, and as a nurse practitioner in a rural primary care clinic and urban teen clinic. These experiences have provided me with comprehensive knowledge about health and health care in Canada. As a life long learner, I have acquired a practical nurse, advanced foot care, and adult education certificate; and a nursing diploma; a nursing degree, a graduate degree in adult education, a graduate diploma in advanced nursing practice. Currently I am pursuing a doctoral degree in nursing education. My greatest education accomplishment is related to my husband, son, and daughter. My family provide the support for my practice and academic pursuits - I am grateful to them for nourishing my learning and pursuit of education.
