HOPE: Homelessness in Osteopathic Pre-doctoral Education - was a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)-funded training program within the College of Osteopathic Medicine from 2010-2015. The curriculum that was developed has been compiled into a manual along with a rationale for this type of homeless health care training, current research and findings. A small amount of funding from HRSA permitted for a graphic design firm to complete the layout of this electronic-publication in the absence of an NSU-based academic publisher. The curriculum has been posted to the NSU Project HOPE web page (http://osteopathic.nova.edu/ori/project-hope.html) for free access so that the training program can be adopted by other health profession programs and agencies serving the homeless. The manual has been circulated to all osteopathic and allopathic medical schools, and has been distributed as a national resource through the National Health Care for the Homeless Council's Clinician Network. An additional training video was produced to accompany the training manual with built-in lecture materials. The hour-long MP4 video will also be linked to the Project HOPE website.
