Abstract
Mansonia uniformis (Theobald) and Mansonia africana (Theobald) were found to be the most abundant anthropophilic mosquitoes in the en virons of Gambela, Illubabor Province, Ethiopia. Both species were highly exophilic and exophagic, more abundant during the wet season than the dry season, and showed maximum
biting activity during the hour following sunset. The potential of the two species as vectors of human disease is discussed.
