About Elizabeth Schoenfeld MD

Elizabeth Schoenfeld is board certified in Emergency Medicine and is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Healthcare Delivery & Population Sciences at UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate. Prior to her arrival at Baystate she attended the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University and completed residency in Emergency Medicine at the George Washington University Hospital and fellowship in Emergency Ultrasound at the University of Maryland.

In 2015, with Dr. Lindenauer and Dr. Goff, Dr. Schoenfeld received an R03 from AHRQ to study physician's perspectives and attitudes regarding the use of shared decision-making in the emergency department and in 2018 she received a five-year K08 (Career Development Grant) from AHRQ to study shared decision-making in renal colic. Her other research interests include shared decision-making as a method to decrease resource utilization in the Emergency Department, ED for opioid use disorder, and defining methods to decrease CT scanning in ED patients presenting with renal colic.
