Abstract
This presentation will present an overview of the work of a team of faculty librarians at Boise State University library who have researched, created, and assessed a series of resources and programming grounded in the information literacy needs of the local community, in line with the Association of College and Research Libraries’ Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education, and informed by their expertise in current information literacy pedagogy. These academic librarians will discuss how information literacy pedagogy, when deployed in specific and deliberate ways, can be used to create learning experiences that guide their communities toward a more nuanced understanding of misinformation. These concrete, practical, and lifelong skills are not just applicable in the academic environment, but also in any interaction with online information resources.
