Abstract
The Thomas Stone National Historic Site is located in southern Maryland and managed by the National Park Service as an historic property. An early 18th century tobacco farm, it has the distinction of being the country seat of Thomas Stone, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

The cultural landscape report focuses on the plantation economy of the 18th and early 19th centuries, and the development of a utilitarian and formal garden space common to country seats of that period.

The report was produced for the National Park Service in 1994. Suggested citation: "Brabec, Elizabeth, and Kevin Kirby, Land Ethics, Inc., and J. Richard Rivoire. 1994. Cultural Landscape Report: Thomas Stone National Historic Site. Washington, D.C.: National Park Service."
