About Elizabeth Winokur, PhD, RN, CEN

Dr. Winokur received her PhD in nursing in 2012 from the University of Arizona, Tucson.  She has more than 40 years of experience in emergency and critical care nursing in diverse roles including department educator and department director.  She has additional clinical expertise in burn nursing, sexual assault, and child abuse.  Dr. Winokur currently facilitates research and evidence-based practice/QI initiatives for nursing at St Joseph Hospital, Orange.  She is an assistant professor for California State University, Los Angeles where she teaches graduate and doctoral students.
 
Dr. Winokur’s research interests are cardiovascular health, health promotion especially among vulnerable populations, and emergency nursing topics.
