About Elizabeth Wickstrom, MD, FACOG

Dr. Elizabeth Wickstrom is a board-certified maternal fetal medicine specialist with Maternal Fetal Medicine Physicians in Overland Park, Kansas. She is affiliated with Menorah Medical Center and Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Dr. Wickstrom offers more than 25 years of experience, with specialized expertise in complicated multiple pregnancies, diabetes, hypertension and caring for families through the diagnosis of fetal anomalies (birth defects) and other pregnancy complications. She is passionate about pre-pregnancy consultation for families with recurrent pregnancy loss, planning a pregnancy with maternal health issues, or after a stillbirth. A new focus of the practice which Dr. Wickstrom enjoys is Telemedicine, allowing her to meet with patients conveniently in their homes for consultation. An essential part of Dr. Wickstrom's philosophy of practice is to come alongside the woman's obstetric provider, helping to lend expertise and create a plan of care that allows that woman to stay under the care of their familiar OB team.

Dr. Wickstrom has received numerous honors over the course of her career and is a past recipient of the Kansas City area's prestigious "Speaking of Women's Health" annual award. As a researcher and author, Dr. Wickstrom has led numerous clinical trials and published articles in professional journals including the Journal of Maternal Fetal Investigation and the American Journal of OB/GYN. She has also served as an associate professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City's College of Medicine.

Dr. Wickstrom is on the Advisory Council of the Kansas City Christian Medical Dental Association, is a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Accreditation Council for International Health Education, a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and is a member of the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine. In a volunteer role, she co-founded Maison de Naissance, a midwife-led birthing center in rural Haiti, resulting in being named an Ingram's magazine "local hero" in 2017.
