About Elizabeth M. Luoma

Elizabeth Morse Luoma, Ph.D. is Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Sacred Heart University, a driven, collaborative colleague with a deep passion for equitable and inclusive teaching and developing excellence in instructional practice.
Beth is a trained biologist with experience in educational development, project management and student advising/mentoring. Beth has also taught both graduate and undergraduate courses at Southern CT State University and Yale and served as undergraduate mentor and advisor for women in science at Yale and a high school STEM program.

Beth is the recipient of the Professional and Organizational Development (POD) Network Adjunct Faculty SIG (Special Interest Group) Conference Scholarship and Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education (POD) Graduate and Professional Student Development Committee Award amongst others.

Dr. Luoma received her B.A. from College of the Holy Cross, M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Yale University. She also has a college teaching preparation certificate from Yale.
