Faculty Expert: French culture (particularly nineteenth century), the history of museums and art collecting in nineteenth-century France and United States, the reception of medieval architecture in France and the United States, the history of “literary house museums” (museums dedicated to writers and artists), Japonisme, women dealers of East Asian art.

I teach a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate courses related to French language, literature, business, translation, and culture--with particular emphasis on the medieval period and the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries--and seminars for the Honors Program and the Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies Program.
