About Edward (Franc) Hudspeth

Edward (Franc) Hudspeth PhD, LPC-S (AR+MS), NCC, ACS, RPT-S, RPH is Program Director and Associate Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling. As inaugural Program Director, he will be leading the development of a low-residency, online Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  Dr. Hudspeth's research interests are trauma’s impact on brain development, psychopharmacology, neuroscience influences on counseling, neuroethics and play therapy. Dr. Hudspeth has many years experience in the mental health field and has spent several years as a counselor educator and designing online counseling programs. He has received many awards such as Counselor Educator of the Year and Faculty Excellence Award for Service. He also holds professional appointments such as Chair of the Foundation Board of Directors for the Association for Play Therapy and Editor of the International Journal of Play Therapy and Journal of Counselor Preparation and Supervision. Prior to SHU, Dr. Hudspeth was Associate Dean of Counseling at Southern New Hampshire University.
