Abstract
Some 15 or 20 years ago, I noticed that the theorem stated here could be derived very simply from the basic equations which define the properties of a quadripole.
The derivation appeared to be so obvious that I presumed it to be well known. Experience over a long period has shown, however, that this is not the case and I feel that it should be published. It will doubtless draw the ire of experts in the field but it may prove useful to the larger group who employ network theorems to shorten the labour of circuit analysis and design.
