About Dorothy Garrison-Wade

Dorothy F. Garrison-Wade, PhD is an associate professor and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs in the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Colorado Denver. Prior to coming to higher education, Dorothy served in public and private schools as a secondary school principal, counselor, secondary and postsecondary teacher and researcher. These experiences spur her research agenda on inclusive leadership, which explores access to equitable and fair educational opportunities for individuals, regardless of race, disability, gender, or social status. Dorothy’s numerous publications and presentations aspire to transform the field of educational leadership by advocating change in oppressive social structures and institutions.
