of people involved can be serious crimes of human trafficking. In 2007, in a precedent‐setting case, Glenn Marcus, a sadist known as the “S&M Svengali” in the BDSM community, was convicted of sex trafficking and forced labor in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
