About Donald C Barber

My research in marine sedimentology addresses the rates and patterns of shoreline erosion, sea-level rise, and climate change. I also apply geochemical techniques to trace the origin and movement of archaeological materials, contaminants and sediments in fluvial, estuarine and marine environments. I have conducted onshore and offshore research throughout the western North Atlantic Ocean, from Baffin Bay in the north, to the Bahamas in the south. Most of my coastal fieldwork has been from Maine to North Carolina (USA), but I've also worked on the Arabian (Persian) Gulf coast in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
