Multiplicidad dramática en Rumor de marMigración y dictadura en escena. Un acercamiento interdisciplinario a la obra del dramaturgo uruguayo Dino Armas (2017)
Rumor de Mar (2000) is a drama that deals with a broad spectrum of issues related to the dictatorship through the meta-theatre as a starting technique. This technique suggests that the playwright intents to point out the nature and scope of the theatre itself and not only of what could be considered as problematic or core theme of the work. In the case of Rumor de Mar, these topics are projected in the suffocating and alienating environment derived from a repressive political system, as well as psychological, both collective and individual, behaviors resulting from the same situation.
This play shows more the denunciation than the criticism to the complex psychological relationships, both at individual level and a group level, that emerge strongly linked and deformed due to a dictatorial regime. Society is undermined in one of its basic elements that is the cooperation for mutual well-being and one of its fundamental institutions, the family. The work reveals the problems and consequences, but there is not a criticism that develops in detail about the causes or ideas that underlie certain postures. The work is not focused in criticize or denounce the dictatorship, or injustice, or abuse of power and the same violence.
